I bought a new oil pump for my 20xe other day. i fitted it bt it don't seem to fit rite? were the silver spacer fits in the old one it doesn't fit in the new one because the rubber seal is to small. after fitting It I found that the bottom pulley rubs against the pump ?? Have I got the rite pump or am I missing a spacer which is suppose to come with the new pump

Pumps fine, you. Just have wrong seal. Clean the seal on old pump and it should have 3 sets of numbers, such as: 55/40/7, there seal dimentions to order a new one. Or simply ask for a c20xe front oil pump seal from motor factors, knock seal out old pump and fit new one in with spacer, job doone.
I'm sure there are 2 versions of the oil pump on a xe iirc , a early and a late as such
Early and late is for the top back plate mounting. The later one has a lump on the top

does the seal just push out ??
Have to use something like a flat blade screwdriver and knock it out, to get new one in, could use a socket the correct size and knock it in, or lightly tap one side then other with a drift, socket extention, etc to get it going into the pump, then tap it in moving drift around seal to knock down evenly.
