Can anyone measure up there mount?
Not due to me wanting to make one i am struggling to get the bottom boost pipe onto the turbo as it seems to be fouling the body/chassis..
The reason i ask is my mount looks to be a oe type mount (moulded shape oppossed to the flat metal conversion ones) and im not sure what it is originally off, i planned to buy a conversion mount but dont want to if its going to be the same.

could do with the measurements from the bolt holes that go into chassis rubber mount and the flat part that sits against the block... just to see how far the conversion mount brings the engine back.

here is a old pic from a few months back showing my mount...

p.s. i also have to take the mount off to get the manifold on/off as it partly covers the thread on the lower manifold bolt closest to the thermo housing..

What the hell is the mount your using from? That's way to big to be in a Nova.

I'll try and measure mine in a bit.

Looks like the original nova mount has been cut off and welded lower on the leg so you can use a standard Astra type mount was the old way of doing it before mounts were readily available my van was done the same but I run an Astra gte ally mount looks a bit smaller than yours ill try and dig out a pic

Conversion mount won't work without moving the original mount back

How come I cannot just use a conversion mount? Surely it will still bolt up the same? As I am using the nova rubber mount or does the conversion mount drop the engine slightly. And I'm not sure what mount it is tbh that's why I am questioning it to see if I can use a different one
This car seems to be getting worse!!!

Because the mount on the chassis leg has been moved down . Its been welded about 3" lower down

The mount is from an 8v big block astra, 16v was ally

And as said the chassis mount is to low to use a conversion mount

so i am guessing i have to just use this... or remove and re-weld the mount bracket where it originally is?

would i not be able to use the bottom two holes on the conversion mount as the bolts on both mounts look in simular possitions. Obv this is just from eye and looking at pics.. suppose only way is to find out the hard way and buy one to find out no...

has anyone got any reasons not to make a spacer plate?
i.e. between the block and mount... about half inch maybe not even that?
obv with longer bolts. would this cause any issues...
