Can you buy new alternator pulley's ?

Dad's got a nice CAT Denso 55a alternator sitting in his shed, which he said he had to have swopped due to the pulley going 'shiney' on the inside and the belt coming loose all the time.

So can you buy new pulley's as i think i'm gonna nick it, replace the pulley and swop out the 40a on my Nova!

Yeah you can but it's whether the woodruff key/slot and shaft diameter would fit the replacement pulley.. Tx Autosport and demon tweaks do some, not expensive..

Why dont you just sand it down to remove the shiney bit?
