Just wondering if anyone has ever put an seh into a mk4 astra before my van is getting hard to start and at the price of pumps I think I'll convert it to petrol for a laugh. I can get my bro's old 130 brake engine for buttons. Is it worth wile lol

hard to start is probably glow plugs. its hardly difficult or costly to fix..

i can't imagine its hard to fit a SEH. as the 2.0 ecotec mounts should be the same.

Ecotec mk4 mounts differently to older big blocks. Hardly worth the effort of changing tanks, clocks, exhaust etc to put an old 8v in tbh.

It's not the glow plugs pumps on its way out as everything else has been changed leak off pipes injector o rings the lot. £300 for a recon pump and £100 to get it coded wen £50 buys the 8v and I have a welder and numerous old exhausts to make the two and put an in line pump in. The van isnt worth putting a pump on but it's got a full years test and I have everything I need to put it in

have you actually rung a diesel injection place up to see what they charge to service your pump & injectors?

One place quoted £900 to do up the pump alone lol
