As title says really
I have seen many mk1's with the exhausts coming out angled towards the passenger side and a few straight...
What is correct? and does mine seem to sit ''about right''
Hard to tell i understand without bumper on but that is being painted and just got my exhaust fitted and woundered if this looks about right or is completly wrong...

most, including standard, are angled, but magnex systems straighten out the exit.

Yours looks in roughly the right place to me although it's quite a big tailpipe and quite high so you might have to make the cut out a bit bigger.

My sportex hangs in around that position, will get a pic for you to compare when im next working on it

I'm just judging from the fact the system I used on my mk2 was actually a mk1 system and it sat below the bumper... that tailpipe seems to hug the rear valance quite tightly

Angle is right but looks way too high to me.

Your tail pipe is pointing up to me, whole tail section needs rotating clockwise, viewed from the rear

Thanks for all the answers! I personally did not fit this myself, a friend who's garage it is at did... However i new it would need adjusting as impossible to get right without the bumper in place. As long as it seems ''close to where it needs to be'' to everyone elses eye, then im happy. The chap i brought it off had it on a mk2 but said he brought it of a mk1 so should fit ok. So seems he may have been right :-)
Will update when bumper is fitted hopefully this weekend and maybe start a project thread if i get 5 mins away from my demanding 13 month old daughter!

What is peoples opinion on the tailpipe... my first thoughts when i collected it was HUGE! but on the car personally i dont think it looks that big but again i have only been sent a pic and not seen it in person yet myself. Just hoping its not mega loud... 2 3/4 pipework and that whoping 4" tailpipe!

Royston what size if the tip of your's thats sorta what i was hoping to get...

thanks again

4" does tend to look a bit cabbage shooter, 3" is what the ashley systems are and they're just sliiiightly on the large side which fulfills the chav inside without looking awful lol

Ha maybe another backbox will be on the cards then....although i will prob need a full system as i am guessing not many backboxes are interchangable between different manufactures (in the aftermarket/performance section)

Lets hope it does not stand out too much!

I'm sure a proper exhaust place will make one up for you to fit. That looks like a custom system anyway? Powerflow places can be good as it's really down to who does the work how good it is, but a lot of them are pretty shoddy workmanship.

I know Benn was very happy with his system from Welsh Coast Customs though, Gareth that runs it (if he still does!) used to be a member on here. If you really want something spot on it might be worth the trip.

The exit is too large, in proportion to the car, imo.

Lose the crazy plate font too. No sense in picking up fines for a standard plate.

Nice colour. I raped a 1.3 SR, that colour, in the scrappy. lol

when I had my exhaust made I did want it straight out the bumper as I too had a magnex fitted years ago, as I didn't have the bumper on to do that it was just made to be angled out and up slightly, it has grown on me a lot tbh.

Just me being a C0ck but no standard nova exhaust ever sat at an angle ( apart from certain red back box's on sport models ) most aftermarket back box's sit at an angle. I guess it was cheaper to mass produce them rather than fit them properly,

Standard SR exhaust lol

GM GTE back box ( note the angle to sit straight )

Of course this is just my personal opinion but I far prefer a straight exhaust.

Yes I agree straight seems to look the best at other pictures.
It is a power flow custom exhaust, and tbh as the engine is a fresh build and I done it myself, I sort of never trust my workmanship or always look on the bad side so rather than have the car towed to my local exhaust makers I brought this hoping it would do the job to test the engine and get it to and from where it needs to go before it can go on the road ect..
At least then if it goes bang I'd be happier that it went bang in my hands than look a fool at a tyre and exhaust centre if that makes any sence. Bumper has now been painted so will fit that Tomoz evening and post some pics.
I understand not everyone likes everyone's cars or mods, so thanks for the comments and honesty. :)

Fitted exhaust today in the lovely weather! Don't think it's going to get much better than this as whoever made the system has made the backbox sit about 1cm away from the passenger side rear tyre.... Here are a few pictures
