Painting dash and centre console/gear surround

May seem like a really stupid question, but what black is used?
Am I right in thinking "satin"

Its a 1.0l gsi rep im working on.

use a plastic primer & then the paint that gives the finish you require. black bumper paint won't be too shiny

They arnt painted, but a satin would be the best way to do it.

I used satin on mine, just make sure you prep it very well as mine reacted on spots.
