GSi Fault Code 36

Ive just read the fault code on my GSi and its showing 36. Problem is I have a seimans device strapped to the bulkhead?? (the ECU itself is in the car isnt it) so I dont know what system ive got. How do you tell?


According to the info on topbuzz 36 is the octane/RON plug if you have the botsh motronic system. Basically im confused, i need to be able to find out what system i have.

Anyone else had a problem like this?

siemens ECU is the later Bosch Jetronic system

its an E16SE engine and as far as i can tell the code is the ron plug as described

cheers, unplugged the RON plug, plugged it back on and its sound :lol:
