We have clearence issues on the rear of the rally car when we put the wet tyres on they slightly catched the rear outter arch. as the photo shows it caught badly on saturday at mira whilst rallying and pulled the inner arch up so we had to do some bodgery.

so im after info if anyones found a good shaped spat to rivet etc onto the rear to allow a few mm clearence. like saxos.
I dont wanna hear change tyre size, change offset, nova beams are all ways out of centre. p.s we dont want to put a 4"wide extension kit on it beause the car handles perfectly.:thumb:

for all you need surely you can make some up with fibre glass and cataloy. Or better still weld some metal in and cataloy to shape.

Something like the BTCC Golf style would surely be more suited than the bolt-on JDM-style flares?

There's always the 'euro flare' route where you'd just pull the standard out out, if it's just the lip you're catching and not the main tubbed area. I did this on mine and there's tonnes of room (running 19/57/15 Michelin slicks with 6J wheels and 5mm spacers and they've not touched the outer arch lip at all)

How halfar5ed does that golf look ? Did they run out of fiberglass before getting to the bumper lol,

Get the grinder out and some sheet metal and make the arch wider, it's not that hard to do,

It does look ****. I remember seeing them for the first time, and thinking that.

Is the back of the arch flare not open? Function over form, fair enough, but come on! lol

Agreed on widening the original arch being the best option. horizontal slit, pull, then fill the gap.
