I have a C20LET GTE and the archs have had a repair panel on both sides and haven't been done well and the sills aren't the greatest.

Do you guys think I should try and get genuine quarters and sills if they are still about or get another shell?

Just get the arches redone again but at a decent body shop and they will be able to do the sills as well.

Yeah I have mates that are good at the spraying and bodywork. Would really like to get quarter panels so its just not a repair

If your shell only needs arches and sills why would you want another shell?

What's the rest of the shell like?

Wasent sure just wanted to get a few ideas. The back end is the worst really back legs have been welded archs have repair panels that are coming through and sills are really soft apart from that the front end is good.

Whether or not your fitting just an arch panel or a whole quater panel its still going to be a repair.

Yeah true but if its a whole quarter at least I can properly get ino the inner arch and sort that.

Sounds like this is what the problem is really:

...archs have repair panels that are coming through...

That wouldn't happen if the job had been done properly. By the sound of your description, that's not the case at all!

Going for entire wings will be the expensive way of doing it - rear arch and sill repair panels for Novas are actually really good quality (which isn't the case for all cars, especially older ones).
You'd be much better off saving the money you could spend on entire wings and put it towards the best body shop you can afford rather than a cheap bodge. Better still, buy a welder and do it yourself. Welding's not that hard and then at least you're in charge of the quality.

Yeah mate get where your coming from it was the owners before that done the archs and you can see the repair panel throught the panel so that will be getting ripped out and my mates own a garage and I trust them to do a good job. Thing is I have a welder and done a couple of little patchs easily but I think quarters are way out my league really! Plus dont have painting equipment.
