Ok I understand how to mod the cover and have one ready to do this to but can't help but think that cutting away most of the L shaped bit that it would just let more oil run down the pipe? Also I don't have a catch tank just yet so could I do the mod and just hook back up as it is? I'm also not sure how to even hook it up when I get a catch tank I've read people talking about dry sumps and blocking this pipe or that pipe I'm  I'm no mechanic as you might be able to tell  I've tried looking this up but just don't understand what I'm reading
Can anyone put in dumb ass for me thanks
From what I understand even just cutting that part away without doing anything else is beneficial to the engine, that's all I've done to mine but itS not been on the road since doing it so someone else may have another opinion.

Yea I've read that but just can't see how it must be better or people wouldn't do it

Although, for mine, i did it like Adam's second pic, drilled loads and loads of holes in the plate to let the oil back in...been fine (afaik!) for the past 5-6 years
