Car is lowered and has 195 45 16 on softstars. It just rubs under fast cornering. Would 195 40 profile be harsh? Anyone got them on their Nova

Rolled arches? Can you gently pull them? I've had to my front quite a lot...

i used to get 185/60r14's to rub on the rear arches on my old A reg hatch. with -30mm springs. i think whoever welded them didn't quite get them on in the right place... cos i'm using 185 55r15's with the same spring drop on my g reg & its fine..

i guess the OP is driving it properly lol

Either that or I'm putting the weight on lol

It needs new fronts, I'll try pulling the wing slightly and see if that helps on the next run. If not I'll put 40's on

Haha that's some going! Maybe Novas get quicker the older they get.

I think its more to do with the erratic build quality;

Last SR rubbed on rear OS, previous SR on rear NS... never ever had issues with front though till now! And this certainly isn't the quickest.

Did your yellow XE'd SR rub John?

My silver one was fine,

My black one isn't,

Difference is the black one is too low, the wing is actually cutting the tyre now :(

has anyone ever bothered to recut the rear arches to the same, higher, profile of the front arches, a-la lotus carlton, to increase space???

i've got 40 profiles on my speedlines and didnt notice any difference from the 45s i had before. the state of the roads mixed with the low solid suspension meant they were equally harsh lol can borrow a couple wheels with 40 profiles on to check n see if they still catch if you want
