I know there'll be threads about this before but I'm struggling to search for and find them

The t-pieced coolant pipe that runs from the rad->header tank, through the inlet manifold and into the head behind the cambelt...

1) What is it actually for? Does water run from the header through it, or is it another overflow into the header?
2) Is this safe to blank off and remove?

Water will come from both when hot. I'd keep them both on as they are run off so to speak.
I found with the inlet one blocked i kept popping hoses. It only warms the bottom of the tb, But you get quite alot of water thru it...

Pretty sure mine has always been blocked with no issues

i'd say it was put there for a very good reason.

it was probably a codge to sort out airlocks for hot climates.

Its a auto bleeder, and also heats the throttle body. Gets the air out of the top of the engine.

Use a header tank with two inlets to remove the unsightly tee piece.

Bailey supplied me a additional tube & an ally welder welded it in for me.

Cheers guys, I wasn't concerned about heating the inlet but if it overflows through there was well as the top of the rad I'll leave it. Heard of the carb conversions blanking them off so thought it might be OK.

Funnily enough I have just got an alloy header tank so I'll get another outlet welded on.
