Hi
Just bought the misses a cheap corsa b 1.4.(i know its not a nova but its a step in the right direction)lol, The car runs brilliantly until it hits traffic then the temperature rises really quickly. The fan kicks in ok and when the car starts driving again the temp goes down.Any ideas? Could a flush of the system be a help as the water looks pretty murky.

Cheers

If the water looks suspect perhaps it is just that - water. Never know what the previous owner topped it up with, it may not have been the correct level of coolant.

Air lock,blockage,water pump failed.
Could be any of those things.

My Mrs 1.2 16v Corsa does exactly the same.... She's been nagging me to look at it!

Think i will flush it and have a look at the water pump when i have all the front end off.I had forgot how much fun driving and repairing old car was instead of panicing about smashing or braking sensors.

Cheers
Andrew.
