i posted this idea in the events section, but i noticed not many people go there, lol, anyway, i was adviced to post in here to get a better reply, so here i am!
just a thought really, what does everyone think to an idea of a Nova war kinda styleeee, NL vs RB at maybe Santa Pod? get a rolling road set up and maybe even get Total Vauxhall involved to feature it, could be good, get more publiscity for the site!
would anyone be interested then in setting the event up? it could be a big turn out! (on our behalf ofcourse as they would bottle it! lol) :wink:

well i know that we have some decent motors on here, some with turbs, some valvers, some Tb'd beasts, the lot!

The thing is though why does it have to be a "war" between NL & Rb. Why not just hold a nova day @ santa pod!!!
That would appeal to the regulars more i would have thought, just menitoning that cos i notice none of the regulars have posted apart from dan payne. :P

I agree with MattyWoo. The only rivalry (as far as I know) between RB and NL is the fact that Ged and Ian (and no doubt a few others) had a squabble and Ged decided to set up his own Nova related site. We shouldn't be competing against each other. Theres plenty of other manufactures to compete against.
Depending on when the event is I'd be up for it. It would be good to have a table of times anyway, if you want to seperate it into RB/NL users then so be it.

nothing of the sorts, ged starting rb had nothing to do with any arguments at all.
timing would have to considered, we have done a nova day at pod very successfully, so another would work just fine. although half of our novas dont run lol

Another MK meet is planned either for about a month after trax or hopefully a big one early next year around march time.

yea im up 4 that i use RBmorethan NL i have to admit but sounds good as there aint much rivalry now neway, if it does get organised y not have classes?

Sounds like a good idea for a day out, not sure how the RB vs NL thing would work due to people like Austin who use both sites, but still be good for a giggle.
Sadly ive only just ordered some bits i need to get my programmable management working on my car, so i wont be there in mine, but ill be up for it next year, i should think breeny will give me a good challenge then as no doubt by then he will also be running over 400bhp too, ill get the mrs to come along in her car though, she hasnt done a 1/4 mile day before but i reckon she should be able to get around the 14 flat mark even though the gearbox is fucked at the moment and you have to change gear real slowly or you miss a cog which is going to cost her 1/4 second at least.
I think thats one thing that most people off RB and NL have in common, the absence of an anywhere near finished car, LOL!

Anyone wanting to turn up who uses both sites simply has to state who it is they are racing for on that day > not an oath of allegiance, just pick a side and go for it.
It's not like it's US vs Iraq - its only a little battle of the nova's :D

I was trying to get at the point that pretty much everyone I speak to has bought something from Ben's GSi, I know I have!
lol, this is a great response guys, im sure something can be arranged, just a day out for all nova owners, theres no harm in a bit of competition or rivalry, it makes the world go round!
but i gotta admit, having still got the bueatiful baby gte still up for sale due to unable to afford to keep it, im stuck, so if i do get a car, itll prolly be a 1.0 rust bucket! lol, oh well!
but if we can tell the message round to as many NOVA entheusiasts (we dont want it crashed!) as we can, it should/could be a good turn out!

It shouldn't take too much organising. The last time we had a Nova meeting at Santa Pod we made sure it was on a RWYB day. All we have to do is find a date in Santa Pods calender for Next April's RWYB days. It'll then be a case of those who want to come along, come along :)
Might be an idea to get a table up somewhere on the net of what times people ran (I think Admin Dan is compiling a table). Obviously we'll need to see a scanned timeslip so that we know those RB boys aren't cheating ;) (kidding lads)
Should be a good day. Plenty of time to sort things out tho. Perhaps get TV down there again?

A page published on both forums with the results and then a marker next to people's name saying either:

saying who they were there on behalf of would be cool, but little point in really pushing it as a contest, as its not really going to prove anything other than who has more cars on the road at the time, like at the moment I believe Ian's car is off the road, so thats one car that would be doing great times you dont have, so if we ran this weekend it would skew the results in RB's favour, at any point in time thats goin to be true for one site or the other.
If its april, then maybe the RB lads can talk Grom in preparing pepe for that day, that would certianly make it a day to remember, as im sure all nova fans from both sites would love to see that beast in the flesh running up the strip.

Perhaps categorise engine sizes aswell?

Guess not many of us really know for certain what car we will be in 7 months down the line.
Should be a good day though.
Me and Ian have come up with some classes, and we'll post them up once we have a date.
We are trying to keep the classes fairly broad, i know that means people will moan its not fair, but thats always the way unless you put every single person in their own class by themselves, lol

Anyone there on the day in a nova is welcome to enter the contest I reckon, but it would be better if people let us know in advance so we an adjust the classes so that we have a reasonable number in each class.
People who are late entrants will just have to lump it if they get stuck in a class they dont like.
