1.4SR into 1.0L MkII

I just got a 1.4 SR lump from a G reg to go in my 1.0 MkII :oops: . The engine is minus gearbox and clutch aswell as other s**t like alternator, dizzy, coil etc. What stuff can i salvage from my 4 speed 1L and what stuff can i use from a 1.2 Mk 1 nova (which ive also got)?
Why cant my zorst manifold be at the front of the engine and not at the back grr (damn the OHV!!!! :evil: )

Right, Clutch and gearbox for 1.0l will fit, altenator and coil from 1.0l will fit, use the 1.2 dizzy etc

Thanks for that!! :D Do i need the exhaust system from a GTE/GSi cuz on the 1.4 engine it goes from the manifold to a twin downpipe thing or does the 1.2 have the same thing?? It probably wont matter cuz i will b gettin a straight thru pipe soon anyway :twisted:

ps does anyone know about how the twin choke carb works? i.e wiring to my loom etc

if you strip all of the bits off the 1.2, and fit them to the 1.4, it will work, but I think you need a f13 gbox. just go and get a 1.3 manifold & downpipe they will fit the 1.2 system.

right it goes like this,

use the coil, dizzy, alternator of the mk1 1.2
use the carb head of the mk1 1.2 as well as it's a better head than the 14sr
you don't want to use a 4 speed box on the sr so use the mk1 1.2 if it's a 5 speed or get one from a scrapyard for peanuts f10 will do f13cr will be better
ur 1.0l clutch will be fine
not totally sure but somethin in my head says ull need to move the drivers side engine mount
you can use the exhaust system from the mk1 1.2 if u wanted but it would restrict the power from the engine better goin to the scrappy and gettin a system from a 1.4mk2 astra exact same engine and exhaust

box off 1.0 is no good

you will need rare 1.4sr module. loom and dizzy... 1.2 one won't fit to cam

zorst is easy to mate to 1.0 system

front mount use 1.2 one

a weekends work with all the bits collected (or an evening after work if ur like me lol)

don't wan't to disagree with u ste but the 1.2 dizzy will fit on a 14sr thats how i put a 14sr cam into my 1.2i b4 i coverted the whole engine i just swapped the cam housings and put my old dizzy back on no probs

Also don't want to disagree with you Ste, how come my 1.0l gearbox fitted straight to my rally car when it decided to blow up 12 hours before the start of a rally!! - 1.0l gearbox was all I had at the time, it went straight on and worked a treat - well if you call 4 speeds a treat!

the casings are different... the 1.0 block has different holes for bolting the gearbox to... unless u drilled out he holes in the 1.0 box it wouldn't fit
