Also just noticed the lack of rear tow eye. Rotten! Also it had no advisories on its mot.... But look at those front headlights and number plate FFs. Someone needs to go view it and rip him a new one.

Just because a car has done 25k it doesn't mean its in good condition.

By sounds of it, it has been stored outside - if the rear is rotten then other bits will be well on the way too!

And I don't believe the old rubbish about the old lady in a care home who cant remember where she left the service history!

Probably the buyer went to collect and found out what a shocking job they have made of welding up the rear floor, chassis leg and rear panel.

What the hell is the reserve!?! I would prob pay £4k if it was original and unwelded but I bet the repair is not that good and that would knock the value massively. Strange there are no pictures of the repairs.

Hello all I have seen this car and know all about it ,
Thought I should let you all know a lot more regarding this black gte .
I have been trying to buy this of an elderly lady for last 6 years or more , it has been sat outside her house under a tree and very green looking , she would not sell it me as she liked a vehicle in the drive ! Yes I did try to ask to swap it for a Clio or fiesta etc but she was havin none of it !
The car was all complete and original but was slowly rotting away which was a shame to see , every time I saw it the gte got worse .
Some how a couple of months ago her son sold it to the chancer on eBay !
I went to view this the first time the chancer had it for sale no mot on eBay at 1500 quid , I viewed with a mate and offered him 600 quid ! I have owned over 30 novas and have a concourse mk1 Sr so kind of know what to look for !
Rear boot floor was mega rotten all over rear panel , both corners and through seams to rear turrets , towing eye fallen off , rear chassis legs rotten , above spring mounts rotting , fuel pump rotten off , rotting around front splash panels both sides , sunroof channels rusted so sunroof wouldn't open , plenty of rot to lower crossmember, bit holed around strut tops , paint work very poor and laquer peeling due to being stood and green for years . The panels and interior were good and interior near mint , I was going to reshell this into a tidy gte shell I have as IMO this had passed its best unless you fancy weld throughout . Hence my offer of 600 quid or 1000 with paper work to prove miles which are probably genuine 25k but so what with no papers and a rotten car ! I was not over bothered when he turned down my offer as it was a big big project IMO to make this any where near as good as my Sr . Whoever mot'd this and welded this up is either a genius or needs taking to the vets to be put down .

be worth a punt just for the interior and engine ?

raf24

That explains why its being relisted a lot, buyers must be turning up and realising its a shiitbox lol

at 3.5 grand?! What do you think an interior sells for exactly?

I'll sell you my interior for 3k I'll even throw in my red antibes carpet lol

Its more than likely the seller bumping it up himself then relisting - He obviously thinks its worth a ruck load of cash by his listing!

your rite, car doesn't look rite, have to laugh at these sellers you list genuine miles with no paper work, maybe been around the clock a few times, one lady owner etc lol
its been listed more times than ive had hot dinners

Kev Turbo

I don't see the mileage as the main issue, 25k or 125k who cares, The cars obviously a nail.

If it was super clean then we could start contesting the mileage.

For me losing the service history and leaving it on the drive for many years on 25k is quite possible.

If it's that bad then some young person with not much knowledge will probably be the only person that buys it and.....if they have an accident, in a completely rotten and unroadworthy Nova? (unless the seller has had all the stuff mentioned earlier welded up properly?)

J398SUR
06-07-13, 12:39 PM
Why would you think I would pay 3k for some seats .. lol .. 1k for an engine with 25k and mint Interior sounds like a deal to me.

MK999
06-07-13, 01:18 PM
so £150 for the engine and maybe £200 for a grubby interior if you're lucky and you're onto a winner? :p Much more fun to lose money like that in a casino imo!

and it 'sold' for 3.5k last time it was on ebay and he was asking 1500 min before it was MOT'd, so quite clearly he's pretty deluded as to the actual value. He laughed off £600 which imo was generous.

Kev Turbo
06-07-13, 01:21 PM
Lets be fair here its got an MOT and the mileage could be genuine for all we know.

Its straight panel wise and road legal, Looks reasonably well also - Its a 1500 quid car max. Prob far worse "mint" examples all over this forum.

tony-the-muss
06-07-13, 02:10 PM
Yep I thought my 600 quid offer was realistic and generous as I would defo re shell , and as for it being mot'd ! I strongly advise any mug or rich kid that gets deluded into buying this to take it straight to a reputable mot station , probably get charged extra for all the paper required to list fails and advisories . Shame though as I genuinely informed the seller of all its issues and advised him on its true value IMO ,
