View Full Version : A warning to all South Coast members
It was bought to my attention today that certain Eastern European communities are targeting 90's Vauxhalls and are offering to buy up any regardless of V5's or not. Subsequently they have become a target for thieves. A friend of mine saw a 'Gone in 60 seconds' style list, not quite as glamorous i admit, which included an address known to us both. That has since been sorted. Maybe some others will not be so lucky.
Please note that these cars are being Hi Ab'ed away and exported to Eastern Europe where they disappear
Please be extra vigilant and keep an eye out on your pride and joy and also that of others.
Main targets are GTE's, GSI's, Cav Turbos, Corsa GSI's, Sri's ect and most if not all Nova's from what i gather.
Was linked to and told of this today. The address was very close to me, so wanted to put it up here too.
Bloody hell! Most people would be worried about leaving their porsche on the streets, now its us as well!

Yep! Huge increase in theft all over the town I live in, from simple stuff like garden tools to high end Road/mountain bikes, motorcycles scooters, cars, garage break ins etc..
And the police have admitted they know it's Romania, Bulgarians checzlovakins and polish that are responsible, but they can't touch them unless they catch them or find the items..
I'm constantly worried about all my car's and most my belongings I have in sheds etc.

When you see what goes on in the UK, Europe & the world it makes you mad. Thieving scum, scammers, Peadophiles, murderers, they all need proper justice, not the soft touch slap on the wrist they get IF they get caught. FFS, we cannot even deport a suspected terrorist that hates our country but will happily use our free legal system and benefit system to live a comfy life.

My Dad even had his hanging baskets nicked off his porch a couple of years back, they were cable tied on aswell!
I would hit them so hard they would feel it in their homeland if I caught one taking any of my stuff.
That goes for anyone from anywhere,i wont ring police,wate of minutes.Would rather give someone proper punishment as it might make them think twice about it the next time....

Just real justice and correct punishment, not a 3 month prison sentence in what is a secure 4 star hotel. Fcuk human rights, they gave them up when they comitted a crime!

If you look up where I live it's a nice quiet simple tourist attraction town, so they have seen how un policed it is and now there's a huge crime wave, it's not hard to figure out who's responsible, plus they all drive better cars then most..

What surprises me is how easy it is to leave the UK with a car and trailer compared to entering it. When you board from Calais to Folkestone your whole vehicle get's x-rayed, they ask numerous questions and they even bomb check your car. When you board from Folkestone to Calais they just wave you good bye...
This was a warning to any one local to me, as this is very close to home for me. Infact my friends cars where on this list...
Am beefing up the garage locks at the mo.

come on people, do you lot even think for a second that professional car thieves randomly nick cars???
they drive round looking for stuff, they make notes, they get asked for a certain car & it is sourced..
motorsport has been a good market for decades for stolen cars..
and the second hand parts trade has relied on them to a certain degree too.
there isn't enough money in old gm cars to export them to eastern europe simply for the parts, and a rh-drive vauxhall is hardly going to fetch top dollar over there anyway.
stuff gets nicked for the engines & sold to some mug on the internet.. then the rest is chopped up & scrapped.

Mowgli that's not actually right, I know a polish lad who worked with my mate, when he saw how many scrap cars we had and old ones for very little money, he decided to start buying them and putting then on lorry's to take out to Poland to breakers for parts, as they simply don't have old cars for parts there, there still using them, none of this scrapage crap..

Yup, lad I work with does the same but to South Africa, anything from cars to trucks buses and boats, what we would class as scrap or not worth putting through a MOT makes him a bloody fortune,
He makes more on his exports than actually working for a living but due to it being undeclared income he keeps his job for a source of income,

Funny this was mentioned, on the way back from pvs on Sunday eve I was driving back from Santa pod downs the a21 by Sevenoaks and I pulled into a layby as I needed a piss and there was a lorry parked up with Bulgaria plates on and the driver was adjusting the side curtain and I noticed there was a few old cars, mid 80 to mid 90s all piled up and squeezed into the back of the artic trailer, sittin on tyres on bonnets of cars behind and all were covered in dust, must of been 6 all squeezed in, and all cars seemed to have English plates on, even my girlfriend said it looked very suspicious the way they were squezzed in and he was on a fairly secluded layby, u wouldn't see his lorry in there from the road. I just thought it was all scrap goin for export but they all seemed pretty good condition. My mate does bangers and he was sayin the old mk3 cavs go for £500 export.

I spend a lot of time working in Kent, and used to live there and it is amazing what you see on the back of foreign lorries.
However, the scary part is they can leave the country but thinking back to that series of Sea City on Southampton docks where the BMWs were rammed into a container I suppose anything is possible.

Can't see Vauxhalls being stolen to order en masse,, and shipped to other countries tbh.
VW buses, mk2 Escorts, Pug 504/505 etc are usually the targets, as they are worth stupid money in comparison.

get down to the docks at purfleet & you see loads of stuff going to africa.. a lorry with a pickup on it with a car on it.. they are usually jap or german though, i've never seen a vauxhall in the queue.

Checzlovakins dose not exist but if you mean Czechoslovakia that also dose no long exist but I do live in a country call Czech Republic and NO one want's old Vauxhall's or Opel's here they are Skoda mad, 100% they are not coming here they have no value here at all.

We don't know. Guessing the cars have been seen by someone.. Cars where make, model and colour. One of them you dont see about much anymore, being a red Astra GTE.

what everyone is forgetting is that there is also a lot of home grown scum nicking anything that isn't bolted down.
also what people are forgetting is that 'straight' people are willing to buy this stuff off the crooks in the 1st place, which causes the demand...
i think the notion of stolen old vauxhalls leaving the country would be true for exceptional stuff, like cav turbos etc, but i think smaller stuff will be stripped & the bits sold off on the internet.
this stuff will get moved about the uk, so some stuff stolen in sussex will pop up in the north of the country & it won't be suspected

Yeah there is local scumbags, but in a small town like mine we know who they are, and they can't be arsed to steal they just scrounge off the government..
It's not a coincidence that since the massive influx in immigrats round here we've had a massive spike in break ins for laptops etc, and bike thefts are happening daily from the local schools, they don't care they do it blatantly as well..
It's a ****ing joke, 10-15 years ago you know just about everyone who was in this town, hence there was no crime off theft like that, but now there's loads of foreign people who know one knows, and there's loads of crime.
Worst thing is that the police know, but won't do nothing.
Ebay is full of Novas and Astra's that look stolen. Hell there are pics on a flatbed with a few Novas i was looking at.
It wont just be non circle strangers either, don't know if anyone remembers/knew about what happened to a couple of RSOC guys a few years back but long story short, two well known users on there turned out to be career car criminals who took a liking nicking Cossies.
Pair of them had a yard full of stolen parts amased over a few years.
