Hi,

Thought I'd share a couple of pics of my mates Nova GSi which we took to this years RTTS show and shine in Cornwall :)

Chris (known as Crud to everyone) owned this Nova from 1997 until last year when he lost his battle with Cancer. Having been off the road for a few years after it's respray, I finished off the jobs needed (thanks to many searches and a few posts on here!) got it MOT'd and to the show, which was his dream. I knew nothing about Nova's when I started (grew up with fiesta's sorry!) but thanks to this car (and this forum) now I do :thumb:

Thanks for looking,
John

The kit isnt to my taste at all, but that said, it screams 'ive been done properly' unlike most, and youve finished it in tribute to your mate which is brilliant, i hope you enjoyed the show/weekend and you enjoy the nova too, brilliant work bud :thumb:

Top marks to you for going to the effort to finish the car for your mate and compleat what would have been his dream. Your what I'd call 'a true friend' even more so because you grew up with a lesser car lol. And gone to length to compleat his work! Wish I could say I had someone close enough to do the same for me.

My mrs would jump at the chance to weigh mine in.

Pretty much what everyone else has said, your a true friend for doing that in his memory, and although it's not my taste now, I still think it looks awesome due to the fact it's 90's retro to when he had it, imo with the background story you could get it featured in most mags as an everlasting tribute.
Top work, hope you stay around to make a project of your own.

Scott

What a lovely gesture. You're obviously a true mate.

Take a bow!

(RTTS is a Dub show. Been a couple of times with my mates bay window. Is the show and shine open to everything? I see an S13 next to you.)

Hi - yes open to all now, there were loads of different cars there this year - this was the only Nova, though there was a brown mk1 astra with a mint paint job.

Thanks for all the comments, really appreciated. Crud spend a small fortune and a lot of years graft getting it looking like that. What's worse about the situation is that I only really met him right at the end. I only really got to 'know' him after he'd gone, through his Wife and friends. It's massively gutting as it seems we had loads in common, both in to the same sort of music and working on cars etc. I guess sorting the Nova was my way of letting him know up there that we would have been great mates (well, unless he thought I was a knob!).

I've got a couple of jobs (hence my heater post in the wanted section!) to sort then it's going to be put up for sale (I don't want this to turn in to a for sale thread btw). I wish I could keep it myself tbh, really attached to it!
