When i put a new fuel tank on, i accidentally damaged the end of the breather pipe (where it joins the fuel tank), making it too short. So, i couldnt be arsed buying a new breather pipe, so i decided to modify this breather pipe by putting a thin piece of pipe in the end of the breather pipe and then the thin piece to the tank. It was ok, until i went to the petrol station. It takes ages to put petrol in now, because the breather pipe is thinner, it cant let the air out quick enough. What should i do? Should i take the breather pipe off altogether? Or is that a bad idea?

Where does your breather pipe attatch to the tank?? Is it just above the fuel filler connection??
Ive fitted a new tank to mine and now the breather pipe leaks. I definatly wouldnt recomend leaving the pipe off cos I would imagine it will leak pretty badly when you have a full tank.
I would try to get a new bit of pipe the right diameter and fit it. In the mean time maybe try re routing the breather pipe and check you havnt got any kinks in it. I now run mine up and slightly behind the filler pipe in the wheel arch (but its probably prone to getting covered in shit and possible letting in water there though.) and see if that makes any differance.

Yeah, it joins the tank next to where the fuel filler pipe connects to the tank. The breather pipe currently goes from the tank to the top of the fuel filler pipe near the petrol cap. I think a new piece of pipe, the correct length and diameter would be a good idea. Its just a pain in the arse having to f*ck about taking off the fuel tank for the sake of one pipe.
