Sorry if this has been asked plenty of times before, I'm a newbie to all this!
I bought a pair of Mk2 Astra GTE front seats last weekend and I'm planning on fitting them to my Mk1 Nova Merit..
I've done a bit of research and iirc the merit seats have a fixed subframe whereas the Astra seats don't?
My question is.. Is there a way of modifying the Astra subframes to fit them into my car? I'm fairly handy with a welder! Or will I HAVE to try and find Nova GTE/SR subframes in order to fit them?
If anyone has any pictures or anything that would be very much appreciated! :)

Yes you need to remove the Astra subframe and bolt and weld the sr,GTE,gsi subframes on

Ahh Ok! Are they particularly hard to find/ expensive?
No way at all of modifying the current Astra Subframes that are on there? :(

Ok I've decided against using my Mk2 GTE seats now, I've swapped them with my step dad for a set of MK1 Recaro's instead. Tried to fit the subframe in today and all appeared ok, similar width, just for the fact the runners arent 'deep' enough.. They are about 3mm to shallow? Got some pictures..

Would it be worth trying to mod these subframes/ runner to find the extra few mm in order to fit? Or would it be easier and cheaper to look for SR/GTE seat subframes?

the nova floor pan is a different size & shape to the astras.. incidentally, the floorpan of the mk1 & mk2 astras is the same.....

you need nova bucket seat subframes. the merit ones are not useable.
