I gave up after half hour of ragging on it and broke out the tools and went jeremy clarkson on it lol

it's more about getting the splines lined up perfect than brute force, I've pulled one about for half hour before and then had to move the car (it was just in a yard) and the wheel popped off when I hit full lock!

That said a puller is well worth the £10-15 on ebay tbh

yep just pushing and pulling and giving it some good pulls, i didnt damge anything it was just i was getting a bit carriered away and getting a bit annoyed,

if your gonna try thing method leave the nut on loose so you dont damage yourself if it finally gives in

Yeah mate 9 and 3 and a hit from the back and it came off after 2 mins or so.

Oh and leave the nut on at the end so when the wheel comes free you don't go flying back :thumb:

Haha what did you use?

I drilled little holes from the center out and tbe hammered a chisel into it and it split it enough to relese it

You could remove the steering shaft with the wheel still attached

Never understand why people don't buy a puller, you can get them from amazon on next day delivery lol

Alternatively crack the nut off slightly and take it for a drive until you hear it pop.

Ste Porter (iirc) may disagree with that method!

Really? I can imagine why, and agree its not very clever..... But does work if you leave the nut on lol

He built an LET Nova. Rolled it badly on the first drive, as they forgot to tighten the nut!

Not quite the same as this, but I bet it brings back unpleasent memories.

As for people who remove the nut fully, they deserve all they get! lo

[Edit] Just realised you said you can imagine why. My mistake.l

think of it like this...

1. buy a puller
2. remove wheel
3. sell puller on eBay for about £2 less than you bought it...

Tried taking mine off last night as I've got a Momo Type 35 Thunder to go on, and spent ages tugging and wouldn't come off, no point in buying a wheel puller now cos I've got my car on display at a show and wanted the new wheel on haha, guess ill just have to keep pulling!

if you won't buy a puller, then use the old kettle trick.. wrap some towels round the centre boss, boil a kettle & pour the water onto the centre boss.. it causes the ally to expand quicker than the steel... and hopefully it pops off.

See I am not going to do that because knowing my luck ill get water absolutely everywhere

mowgli

you won't get a puller, you won't try boiling water, i give up....

I got my rugby player mate on the case. He pulled it so hard it cracked the back of the wheel, needless to say it did come off after a couple of pulls. Lol
