MK1 1.2 Nova Merit Restoration

Hi All,
New to the forum, bought this little gem for £250 as my first car. Had been sat in a barn for 10yrs, 54000 miles on the clock 2 owners before me since new. Runs sweet as a nut and wouldn't drive anything else.

Need to De-rust and want to mod the following just to improve for everyday use not mega performance/money at the moment ! any suggestions would be nice.

1) Brakes, what can i fit / do to make them just a tad more powerful / responsive.
2) Handling, few scary moments on roundabouts with rolling !
3) What's the best rust removal/prevention method, paints bubbling? Rear drivers arch on its way out.

regards your brakes, it all depends what wheels your gonna run as cavalier etc brakes wont fit under sr 3 spoke alloys etc

suspention, it all depends on how much you wonna spent and how low you wonna go

and rust is just a general thing on nova so just try to replace as much of the rotten metal as poss and wax oil etc the underside to prevent it

Corsa 236mm vented discs and calipers are an improvement in braking and will fit under standard Nova steel wheels but the most common upgrade is to fit ATE calipers and 256mm vented discs from the likes of an Astra GTE, but these will only fit if the wheels are changed to 14"+

as mk1 nova rich said corsa ate are a good upgrade along with braided brake lines
