centre console

this may be a really stupid question but how on earth do you secure a centre console down (gear surround, as some people call it).
i cant get mine secure and have no idea how to.
any help would be appreciated.

in the section that holds the electric window switches (or coin tray if you've got windeys) there will be a place to screw it down.

that will cause you a lot of trouble.. in the exh/gear linkage tunnel, there is actually a small dent iirc, but you have to cut a chunk of carpet out to find it. but a large self tapper & a suitable mudguard repair washer should hold it in place well enough
