Fitted some new Avo coilovers to the MkII Nova and they're rubbing the tires! I knew I had to tap the inner arch on the rear slightly as they foul a bit but one of the rear tires and one of the fronts are rubbing the springs even with 3mm spacers on!

Have others had to use spacers with Avo's? It's sitting on speedlines 195/45 tires.

Any help/suggestions appreciated

try and raise the suspension as my mate has just fitted a set of coilovers on his audi a3 and had to buy 10mm spacers on the front with standard wheels and tyres....

Are they adjustable camber ??

Do they have helper springs? If yes, remove them. This raises the spring above the tyre.

Fit shorter springs so the platforms sits above the tyre.

Thanks for the input mate.

O/S rear clears with a 3mm. N/S Rear does'nt clear with a 5mm (Got an 8mm on the way!) and both the fronts still rub with a 3mm so putting 5mm on.

With the rear is it not strange it needs different size's? It does have a rear disc beam if that makes a difference?

Different arch clearances is the norm.Lol

Will putting different size spacers on the rear play with the handling?!

What size tyres are you using? As said speedlies with 195/45s will/should clear fine.

My Avo's touched the tyres all round with et49 / 195/50's. Just bought shorter springs though to sit the platform above the tyre, Theyre not expensive.

Also dont forget that if you are running big spacers you will need longer wheel bolts.

Bmw E39 5-series bolts are just perfect.

Ok thanks for that mate. Its all good now and I've ended up with 5mm spacers on the front (which does look nice!!) 3mm on Rear O/S and 10mm (yes 10mm!!) on the Rear N/S.

The rear wheels are also now both equal distance from the arch!
