Right I'm am a complete knob when it's comes to computers and ****.

Thing is I have just moved house and my telephone and broadband are with talktalk. I have the basic broadband as only really surf net normally but I have just got myself a card sharing sky box which runs through the net. Does use much they say.

But my Internet speeds are **** now and don't really know what it was like before my sky box as was busy moving in and sorting stuff.

Done a speed test this mooring an download speed is 6meg. Now there saying there's nothing wrong with that speed for what I pay. Saying if I want faster I need to go for there fibre optic broadband. Which is an extra £10 a month.

Are they trying to pull my leg or sound about right? If I did go for it surely they would have to put fibre optic cables in?

Cheers guys I know I might sound a knob if it goes over my head

It depends how far you are from the exchange, most providers will be able to give you an estimated speed so have a look around and if they all say 6MB then yes fibre optic would be the only way to improve your line

Just looked on there and says 2.4meg on my street and that's with talktalk others showing to compare with. Did the speed test on talktalk website tho do you reckon they are saying more than I am getting?

Fibre won't be to the house, it's to the local cabinet and the. Copper from there. Pm me your postcode and number. I work for talk talk.

6 mb sounds about right for a standard package
