Mk1 sr project muzzy

Well guys as most of you know I already have my Gsi but I've been wanting a mk1 sr for a while now and was searching high and low for a mustard yellow one,at one point I nearly had one then everything went Pete tong !

So I have bought this little gem, came from Rochdale from a nice young lad and it was a mot failure and he didn't have the time or cash to rescue it, I've ordered lots of goodies from Jeffrey to help get it back to its former glory ;)

The plans are to strip the car down to bare shell,there's a few welding jobs etc to sort then it's getting full colour change to mustard yellow and rebuilt with its standard engine ,vinyls,and wheels.

First mod get the three spokes on :)

Oh yeah ! Thanks for getting it back for me Daz, haven't done anything else yet due to having a full garage but I'm on it this weekend ;)

Rich it needs work but don't they all ? That's what I keep telling myself anyway:) . Failed mot on one 50p hole in sill and front inner wings corroded but its all in hand fella

I had two white sr's in my younger years and I soooooo want another!
I have thought about getting my haze blue sr painted white as it will be having a full re spray anyway.
But I always feel the colour should stay the same as it came out of the factory.

Looks like a good base mate, I will be keeping my eye on your progress :)

I know where your coming from I had a e reg red mk1 1.3 sr then a f plate white 1.4 sr back in the day, first thing I did was take all vinyl off it doh

There's just something about the yellow ATM my plans may change along the way but we will see.

Mustard yellow is one of my favourite colours, good luck with the build too :)

Great find, great plans, would love to have a MK1 as well next to the GSi. MK1 GT's are soooooooo rare over here.

Andy that was the plan but something else has come up so I'm going to try and get this parked in my garage at a property I rent out for now and see what happens. It may end up broke for parts as I don't have space for three lol
