Does anybody know where I can get a zlet oil pump ideally with the modified pickup pipe? Sbd want £185 for steel gear and relief valve so being as I need a late type pump housing for cambelt tensioner then may aswell just upgrade to the zlet. There's 1 on ebay for the best part of £400. Could do with a cheaper option if possible.

Any help greatly appreciated cheers

Didn't realize he was a member on here, I've pm'd him on mig but still waiting to here back. Wasn't sure whether he still did bits as any info I found were all pretty old posts. Hopefully he'll come up with goods

Well from what ive read, the pumps are alot more reliable than the c20 pump so no not really.

the C20XE/LET pump is as far as i know, just the old 20se pump. these managed to work for well over 100,000 miles without too much trouble, then people stuck a gear kit into them & maybe a new relief valve & did the same again.

why are people spending tons of money on the replacement for a z20LET which is pretty much the same internal design, but looks different on the outside??

They flow about 30% more oil apparently and being as im running under piston squirters then hopefully will be of benefit. I also need a later type oil pump to run the square tooth cambelt which the zlet pump has the mount for so if im buying a pump anyway i may aswell get the better version surely

isnt the pick up pipe simply a cut and re-weld job?

Im in the process of doing this modification. If you know the right person you can get it done yourself. Steveboyslim is the man if you dont have the right person. Hes actually got something advertised right now on Ebay im sure.

As for the fella who thinks this makes no difference. Your wrong. You can carry on with stock pumps, but the pressure and the build of the z20let/leh pumps are far better. I wouldnt open my engine up to specifically do this mod... however because im having a rebuild, imo its a necessity!

Pictures of the internal cog below. Note that the LET cog has failed!

It's just the measurements that need to be bang on.

Has the height of the pipe been changed aswell as the length?

I think so, as the xe sump end is welded on too. You can just see in the pic.

the pick up pipe is just a 1.7d one extended :)
