Hello everyone and thanks for having the time for reading this post
I have a c2xe redtop that I bought in August 2012 it's sat on my
Garage floor and has been sat there since I bought it I just
Wanted to know how I can start it up just to see if it's going
To run has it was removed from a astra gsi and I haven't
Seen it running yet any advice on getting it to start up would be very helpful

Only safe way is to make a steel frame and mount it to that.I wouldn't like to start one without personally.
Just a box would do,then have a jerry can with your fuel lines going in and a battery for your lives.
When you have done this you will see its easier to fit it into a car lol

What's the wiring side of hooking it up just for it to tick over that's the only thing stopping me from hearing it run and i've got a few mate's here that will hold it steadily:p

this is waaaay more bother than its worth.
rigging up a fuel tank, pump engine mounts, loom, fuesebox, switched lives, ECU. just crack on with the conversion. its going to be easier to rebuild/repair the engine in the car than it will be to rig it up on the floor.

If it was running before you bought it, its unlikely to have failed, unless its been sat in a swamp. pull the plugs, and crank it over by hand. if it barr's over nice and smooth..its fine.

Ok I will stick to just tacking the plugs out and try to turn the big wheel on the engine see if it mooves smooth if it doesn't then something may be wrong with it

Ok, proper answer....my C20XE was sat on my stand for years whilst i built it up. lol it even sat there whilst my garage burned!! All i did was fit it as intended, prime it and fire it up!

They did it on that bangla bangers program, about 10 indians carried it onto the street, tipped some fuel down the carb and cranked it over. Quite amusing. Chances are, any problems you will have will be electrical fault anyway. Mechanically it shouldn't go wrong unless you have dropped it

I.was thinking the same lol. Different deal altogether with a carb though!

Wonder if GG also brought his home on a rickshaw. :d

Max you wanna do is just turn it over with a jump pack/battery and jump leads but with no fuel so it can't start.
I did that to check compression on mine.
