1.4 engines

Just wanted to know...

Are there differences between the standard 1.4i nova engines and the SRi? I take it there are because one is group 5 insurance and the other group 7.

If they are different, would a standard 1.4i engined nova outperform a 1.4SR.

Just wondered as I was being followed by a 1.4i luxe today and wondered how it would size up against my 1.4SR or a 1.4SRi. Unfornunately didn't have a chance to race!

the 1.4i is a heap of an engine

its a 1400SR lump with a castrated inlet and exhaust manifold and a cat running on single point injection

its about 12bhp down on an SR and about 25bhp down on an SRi

although its relativley torquey due to the engine design

might keep up with it really low down but the power would take hold and you'd spank it
