Need to replace the clutch on my f10 box, what do you use to hold the clutch plate in place?
Are you replacing the clutch through the inspection cover hole or with the gearbox removed?
if you are doing it with the gbox in place, then the input shaft, turned till it slides in is pretty good....

A clutch alignment tool of something the same diameter as the input shaft

I just line them up by eye, never had an issue. I assume you have taken the box off rather than changing it through the access cover?

Yes box is off
Anytime I've seen someone changing it they had another shaft they used until the had the clutch built, seemed a lot easier.

You can buy an alignment tool for a few quid, usually come with a variety of sizes
do it by eye.. if its centred over the hole in the flywheel, it will be fine
I use the gearbox,
Line up by eye, get the splines lined up and bolt it together,
Never had a problem that way before,
