hi there i have a nova mk 2 gsi with 20xe and i am rebuilding it at the mo and went to connect the radiator fan switch wires but they are missing and wondered if its worth changing the engine bay loom or does any 1 have any ideas...?? as i i need it as my fan dont kick in at temp...??? :thumb:
seriously, where are the wires??? they shouldn't be removed in the 1st place. make sure Fuse10 has an ign +ve feed to it & then take a [black 1.5m2 wire] off the output side & run it to the rad fan motor, then take a wire to the rad switch, and finally one to earth

 that sounds a bit complicated as i,m not the best at wiring :tard: and thats why i thought maybe go for another loom and could just cut at 1 end and connect old loom the new 1.....?? lol
so you'd rather waste a complete loom over a simple wiring job.... seriously....
a digital voltmeter can be got for under a tenner, a new loom can't

or i could get my mate to pop down and give me a hand...??? lol
Replacing the "engine bay loom" will result in cutting and soldering quite a few wires unless you replace the entire car loom from bumper to bumper.
What Mowgli said isn't complicated to do, so get a mate to help you do it and learn what you're doing with vehicle wiring.

i doubt theyve dissappeared off the face of the earth, more than likely if you peel back the tape around where the switch should be then you'll find them.
find a wiring diagram of the fan circuit so you know what colour of cores you're looking for.

the problem i have is i dont know what colours go to each item as it looks like some 1 before has bodged the wiring loom the wires i though went to the fan switch well actually started when i connected some wires to the battery and connected them to the wires my horn started makin noises and obvously some 1 must of had a second horn at some stage as my horn is already wired up...??? :thumb:

sounds like you have the horn and the temp switch wires swapped over and the fan is in series with the horn, causing them to both operate at the same time.
you may well find if you swap them over they will work. they are both spade connectors and dangle around about the same place if i remember right.
Take some good pics and post them up
