Hi my corsa caught fire due to an electrical fault and the cars had it, I'm looking for a scrap yard to come and collect the car, but I want my coilovers off of it, wondering if they would still collect with no suspension (still has engine in ect)
Thanks Casey

Why not just ring and ask the scrap yard collecting it....

why not drag it down there, jack it up & remove the bits, then weigh it in?

Cause there isn't one collecting it ATM, don't jump to conclusions like a bitch andy just to get brownie points! Stay away from the Internet if you don't want to see people asking questions

Phone around, there will be one to collect, they probably won't give you any money as they will say the cost of collecting it equals what you'd get.

They will collect it with no suspension, my car I scrpped last year had nothing left bar the shell itself(including chasis legs as they had rusted away lol)

Touching burnt out stuff like certain rubbers can also be dangerous so safer to let go

Its a corsa! If I were the owner I would be happy if the scrappys took it off my hands with no charge!

I'm not worried about a £100 for scrapping it mate, that's not what I was worried about

yep you don't wanna be touching any of the plastics etc when they have been burnt, they can produce hydrofluoric acid, once its in your skin your f....d, it eats the calcium in your bones

it doesent really. HF continues to burn through all tissue until it is neutralised by calcium (ie bones) most HF plants have calcium gell thet you rub on if you are exposed to it.

I used to work in a lab for bp in my first apprenticeship, when they used to test it the full lab used to be on lockdown lol, i just remember the safety talks they used to have on it, horrible stuff

It's the Haynes warning that scared me as it says it may be necessary to amputate the limb concerned
