I bought a 20xe engine it came with a chipped ecu i plugged it in and its making everything click eg dizzy ect ect dnt understand y. I tryd my mate 20xe ecu and everthing works fine with tht one could the chipped ecu be faulty ???

if simply swapping the ECU out for another cures the problem.... then yes.

There are loads of c20xe ecus... If it clicks, it's not right or has a fault inside it. If the one you tested is fine then get that code and try and get a second hand one with that code, sorted! :)

^ it won't have the chip in though which he wants... And is obviously knackered.

That is true, I forgot that part lol Although personally, I think I'd be more inclined to have a "safe" ECU than one that clearly isn't right, (maybe the chip not fitted correctly) than one that has the potential to fail and cause further damage at any time.

Hope you can sort it out though...

I dont know the what the diffferences are between the ECUs but it is possible the IO is different but the actual fuel and sprk tables within the 'chip' can be swapped between models. its certainly something i would try as you have little to loose.
find another ECU that works. test it runs. swap the Eeproms and try it again. if it doesnt work swap the chips back and bin the superchip idea.

He dont want the chiped ecu i wanted it lol.It just came with the engine.He getting a new ecu.

if it's making the Dizzy click the chip could be advancing the timing too much?
