I know there is the better known 1300sr crank and rod swap for the 12st engine......but I was told years ago you can achieve the same/similar results with the 1.4spi crank, rods and oil pump

basically I want to know if its bull**** or not (sorry for all that sugar coat, will they fit and what would be achieved by fitting them...cheers :thumb:

tj. simply stick a 1.2 head on a 1.4 bottom end. throw the injection stuff over next doors fence, bolt the carb, cam carrier & dizzy on & get driving

the oil pump is no different on either engine..

remember, the 1.4 is going to be a lot newer & hopefully a lot less knackered

do the 1200 carb heads fit straight on to the 1.4 block? or is it like when you told me corsa have the same engine mounts as novas lol

you could use the 1400 crank (stoke and bearing size the same) but need the 1.3 rods to fit the gugeon pins. You would also need to run the 1400 oil pump as the drive is different.

great idea....£600 wasted to gain about 3hp on a shagged engine.....there is no substitute for cubes

so fit a 3cyl rev counter & buy a 12v car vacuum cleaner.

you think you are revving the taters off it & you get the sucking noise
