View Full Version : Courier Issue - Where Do I stand?
So I sent a bootlid about ten days ago through Interparcel, heard nothing more of it, got an email today from them stating I'd been inaccurate with the measurements, they are now trying to force another £40 out of me.
My objection is, I wasn't. I am 100% certain I was under what I'd stated on the height, yet they are saying I was 15 centimetres out.
So I ask my fellow PNGer's, what are my options?
Does anyone know how they measure these things? Surely they'd need some sort of proof?
Anyone had any similiar problems?
I've replied stating their wrong and I was well within the height limit and asked to see some sort of proof.
I will add Interparcel are usually very good and are far cheaper than many others...

I would say you dont have a leg to stand on because its there word against yours but i could be wrong. I always use parcel2go and i either use tnt or city link through them as its always realy cheep and i never have any size or weight issuea even if i have blagged it to save money
Unlucky, mate! I lie all the time when sending stuff. I don't use Interparcel though - and never will now.
In your booking email you should have the dimensions that you stated? Confirm you are in the right or wrong from that imo.
You just reminded me, My Herpes owe me £30!
Yeah, check your receipt/confirmation as that should have dimensions on it. If not, tell them to bog off lol
Also might be worth asking them what they've measured it as, then checking against another bootlid if you have one to hand. Or ask them to return the parcel to you so you can re-measure it.
The response...
In order for me to dispute the dimensions and the charge with the courier, please advise if you are able to supply photographical proof of the item packaged with the dimensions?
Once the above information is received I will happily look into this on your behalf.
As requested, please find attached the invoice received from the courier showing the dimensions obtained, with regards to how the shipments are measured, all items that travel through the depot are measured using laser technology.
With regards to why it has taken us longer to contact you, we only receive our invoices on a weekly basis, therefore we are only able to look into the shipments when the invoices are obtained as unfortunately the couriers will not always notify us of any issues or discrepancies with the dimensions.
Surprisingly enough, there is no invoice attached... Who takes a picture as proof! However I do have to send another out so may just wrap that up tongiht and use that as proof as I doubt they will have evidence

I use interparcel and pretty much always under size measurements, your best bet mate would be to get another quote for the boot lid with the extra 15cm or whatever out it was, if its a few extra quid you know they are having you off with the £40!

if the height is longer than the width, get them to rotate it through 90 degrees and re-measure it.

Your not wrong either, i make the width bigger than the height and it works out cheeper and ive not had any problems in the past
