View Full Version : I couldn't stay away for long. LDL build
Well I couldn't stay away from a Nova for to long so have started a new project. I will sort some pics out later as at work.
I've got hold of a 1.2 in white (again) but just staying that way for now to keep running cost down.
It was so funny to drive a nova again after over a 2 year gap.
ps its been in the garage since the end of may and the misses doesnt know its there lol.
And yes it needs some parts.
LDL build? What's one of them? Could be a stupid question :D what's planned for the Nova then?

It needs some work and a new tailgate with sr mrk2 spoiler if poss and a drivers door as tin worm has set in a little. For what it cost tho I can't complain and only failed its mot on 3 little holes and the exhaust blowing on a join.
Cheers Scott. I may even get wi fi at home somewhen lol.

Welcome back ernie nice little project. What's the long term plans than?
Cheers Chris. Long turn plans are just to tidy it up and keep with the 1.2 to keep costs down.
The joy of a toddler and house means funds are a bit tight at the mo so this might be dragged out a bit.

Thats cool banzaiundersteer might return in a few years as I have stopped spending on mine .
sorry for the delay on this build but it will be coming on soon once i know what i want todo with as cant deside on another track toy (stick 2) or get it back on the road.
Just a little update. I've been round and started it today which was no trouble then let it run to charge the battery a bit while I went pot holing lol. It wasn't as bad as it could of been just a few holes in the normal nova places. I've also sourced a set of gte skirts from mini man so they will cover the one at the back once done.
It's not by any means a minter but not bad.
It's in need of a bonnet stay holder a rear boot squirter and a drivers seat base. I don't need the material just the base as the part where it keeps it upright is broken off.

I fully intend to remove the stickers but it needs a new boot lid as this one is very dented so might just hold out to save on work not needed.

Hi mate got a few mk2 boots in white one with spoiler one with holes and different color spoiler plus got a spair base as I'm breaking a set of seats up probably got other parts ure after, defo got s glove box
Let me know what you would want for the white boot with spoiler and the seat base. I'm a bit busy at the mo as getting married in two weeks but should be able to sort things out after then if that's ok mate. Thank you.
This is taking longer to build than my last ones as just don't have the time or spare funds at the mo.
Ey up mate, i didnt spot youd got a thread for it already lol
Whats Elsie say then, obviously she doesnt mind as youve got it now :d

Baby xe for a bit more speed on a budget lol
Baby xe is deffo the sensible budget route. Also a blowing exhaust isnt a mot fail just an advisory. Welcome back as well mate
Cheers Burgo. I was thinking a 1.6 or 1.8 small block 16v.
Well sorry to let you all down but it needed more work than I had time for so I sold it on. Somebody else has taken it on in Stroud now.
;-(
I might be back in a nova one day but not just yet as get no spare time as it is.
I will still be around as usual.

That's the problem when you get older I suppose, your still wanting a cheap Nova like you could pick up in 1999 lol
also known as 'other priorities'
Well I've still got the Corsa and it's still running fine. I did have to fit a new ignition switch last week but £10 later it was starting fine again and still loving it.
Its still a giggle.

any updates on this mate ?

Well I think he's sold it on due to to much work
Yeah LDL got sold on and it paid for the Corsa so I'm more than happy for what I got for it.
It didn't need much work I just didn't have time or funds at the mo.
Family always comes first and the Corsa was tax'd mot'd when I bought it so went strait on the road.
Also feel a lot safer with Kieran in the Corsa than the old nova.
Maybe one day I will get another that Kieran and me can rebuild together.
Hopefully catch up with a few people at Combe on Saturday.
