Keep looking at FZR400's :) I want to swap the 525tds for a 535 (turbo lol) at some point, so something that can do 45-50mpg and be a bit of fun makes sense as a runaround, plus I can get away with painting it mustard yellow to Yamaha's old school race scheme :d it's all money though! Costs are fairly considerable by the time you've done CBT's, safety gear, insurance etc... but running costs are attractive after that initial cost for sure :)

Yeah mate I past my test when I was 20 (8 yrs ago) I insure the sv1000 for £70 a yr which is great but I'm thinking of getting a zx10, tbh I should have kept the gixxer,

I get a bit jealous looking at threads like these, really want a road bike but I've been told from my gf it's her or a bike! So I've got a 160cc off road bike that's just doesn't meet my needs.

Nice PK. I used to have vespa`s for years but sold all but one 8 years ago which is a 3 speed 100. Need to find an engine for it and build it back up.
Had crossers on and off since i was 11 but dont get time any more now we`ve got the kids. If i got a proper road bike id kill myself in 5 mins.

Yeah the insurance prices are very low, and it also helps keep miles off of the car which drops insurance even more hopefully, just need to straighten out the finances and set it all in motion :) I'm not really looking at anything over 400cc though, I very much doubt I'd ever use it on the road!

Here's mine. I've always wanted to get into motocross and when I got offered this by a friend I just had to have it. It's a 2004 KTM 125sx and is fast enough for me at the moment seeing as I've never ridden a proper motorbike before this, and the fact you can't beat the sound of a 2 stroke!

Would love something like that, would probably kill myself though as I've never ridden anything bigger than an old 300 Suzuki (GSX or something like that) first rode a motor bike when I was in primary school loved them ever since.

Coolest bike ever. Fortune teller woman told me years ago that if I ever got on a bike I'd be dead within a year ( I never mentioned bikes) , normally I'd have ignored that sort of nonsense, but the day before I had phoned to sort out lessons.... So I agreed that she would likely be correct lol. The notion still exists that it would be a good idea though!

But I think I prefer going rounds corners quickly or sideways which wouldn't work on a bike so i'll stick to 4 wheels lol

for the road its not very fast at all, i really like the bike but it needs more power!

switching from riding it flat out in the woods on singletrack to an open road on smooth tar makes you realise how slow it is. doesnt really have any power over 80, will go to about 110 if you really push it, chin on the tank.

its a good bike for commuting as your up high and can see over everyone and it corners really nicely aswell. i can only just touch the ground at traffic lights on it though which can be annoying in town. i think i'll end up selling it and getting a gsxr600 for the road and maybe something like a ktm 250 stroke for off road, lighter and more powerful.

Some nice bikes here lads. I agree, gotta love a two stroke!

It's the smell for me though! Here's my contribution - if Brains can crash this thread, then so can I lol - which despite my initial thoughts, shares barely anything in common with a bike engine.
The Yamaha bike dealers come in handy for parts though!

Here it is receiving some 'attention'.
