:( ruddy people always have to mess things up dont they! :(

my car is now running prioperly again after the weber ghuy tuned it up and discovered the timing was out by 30' and the gasket that vauxhall were supposed to have replaced and didnt was fixed.

get this though - turns out that when vauxhall replaced the gaskets they somehow managed to put the threads in the wrong way - hence the reason it was crap when accelerating! Apparantly the manifold bolts have a long and a short thread - they managed to get them the wrong way round putting the wrong thread into the block. They then forced the bolts back on which in turn didnt seal the gasket properly!

Its all been fixed and theres no damage but took the mechanic I rely on a good 1 hours to get the threads out!

Fitted my new2 4 2 1 manifold (thanks cheese) but in the process of fitting discovered that I needed a new exhaust as the 1.2 one is different from the 1.4 (more in the positioning rather than the bore size apparantly) - also had to lose my magnex stainless steel back box - for the time being - gonna see if I can refit this though...

Get car back tomorrow...

All I need now is a new wing - a small patch of bubbling paint seems to have appeared :?

Prob leave till after trax...

vauxhall were about has helofel as a hole in the head!

Said as it wasnt returned back with porob noted they cant do owt. Denied any knowledge.

I aint used the car much since getting the gaskets changed over.

Linz - horse box is going into body shop for a new cab (well new panels anyway) - will be reefitting the living and the box myself - the cabs too rusty and full of holes for me to make any attempt at fixing - needs a new front section!

Luckily wife knows a woman who knows a man who owns a carriage works that specialise in horse boxes

:D
