Gear linkage - c20xe

Fitted my gear linkage today but I think it is off a cavalier. It doesn't have the big u bend in it like a nova one.

Does it matter? Didn't seem to have to flip the white u joint but the splined rod is really close to the bottom of the steering rack.

I haven't fitted one before so don't know if it is right or not

Use the nova linkage and just flip the white joint around. I know the nova one works.
