Vauxhall cavalier mk2 1989 f reg 1.6 automatic lx saloon
1 owner car with original bill of sale and massive amounts of documentation.
the car from first inspection is very clean on top with good upper body work with only the very rear parts of the sills been rotten and a small hole which i pushed through in the area between boot lid and the rear window. the car had a full respray some time between 2000 and 2004 having several new panels and a small amount of welding to the front inner wings.
the car was used as a daily driver until 2006 when it failed its mot on corrosion (rot) to rear suspension prescribed area at both sides. ( i have the fail certificate and loads of old mots)
the car was trailered back to the owners house and rolled off the trailer and not moved for 12 months, after moving the car to have the drive repaired the owner found the car had been rolled by the trailer owner on to a low wall which has pushed the wheel well up and caused damage to the boot floor. this has caused the boot floor to rot heavily over the 12 months stood outside. the car was then moved in to a dry garage and has not been moved until now but all the brakes roll and the gear box can be moved between gears.
the car has not been started since 2007 so does not start the battery is definetly dead and the fuel will almost certainly be stale but i have no idea on any condition of the running of the engine it may start with fresh fuel and a battery but i can not guarantee anything mechanicaly i only say this to cover my back.
the car is not road worthy never mind a show car but it is rare and has potential to be on the road again. please dont think this car can be fixed quickly this car requires serious restoration.
the car could be fixed i have no dought of this but is out of my skill range, and i dont have the time or money to attempt to pay someone or learn how to weld. with the correct knowledge, tools and time this car is repairable and would make a lovely looking retro. classic car.
I am NOT willing to break this car it is completly original and has not been tampered with in anyway so please dont try an offer money for the parts as i will not accept. please offer to buy the whole car if you require a few parts or everything off the car to re shell it then please make an offer on the full car as there is everything there to rebuld.
i have been as honest in my description as i can but if any information is incorrect or changes i will change my post as soon as possible. any questions will be answered to the best of my ability.
