whats the general spec on these i have one lined up as a little project i have hpi checked it and its come back as a genuine 1999 vauxhall corsa sport 1.4l but its a 1297cc and the chap claims its a 1.3 8v carb engine is this correct ?? i would of beleived it would of been the 1.4 8v or 16v engine same as the ones in 5 doors :confused:

has it had a engine conversion? because corsa sports only come in 1.4 16V and 1.6 16V

Corsa sports are 1.4 16v and 1.6 16v mate. Theres no such thing as a 1.3 corsa . Sommat aint right with it mate steer clear if I were u bud

Nope, they did not make a 1.3 Corsa. If it is a Sport it should be the 16v engine, if it's an SRI then it can be either the 8v or 16v depending on year.

May have changed engine with dvla but should be a 1.4 or 1.6 16v the 1.3 8v was never fitted to a corsa just 1.2 and 1.4 in earlier models

if its a proper 1.3s or sb engine, then it would be worth a few bob taken out & sold.. and would easily pay for a baby xe to stick back in

How would I know if its the proper 1.3s engine as im going to look at it tomorrow ??

dead easy.. look at the engine from the front, and on the side of the block nearest the radiator & the gearbox, right next to the head gasket, is the engine no. it will start with 13 then either s or sb. if it has just 13, its a low compression one, anything else means its not a 1300

So even if is not the s or sb with a thicker head gasket I could do a low boost turbo project ?? Lol

if amazingly you find its a 1.3 low comp, its low enough to turbo straight away.. but they are rarer than bacon cob in tel aviv

You'll probably find the DVLA have cocked up somewhere when registering it originally, but fingers crossed its a lucky find for you. :)
