Does anyone know who built the engine in it? Running 1.6 with T40's.

Think the car came from Stafford.

Right apparently it has a big valve head and it's running quite a lairy spec unknown cam. The lad who built it got the cam in another engine he bought for spares so was unknown to him when he bought it. It runs genuine sport 40's and was all set up by mikeanics in congleton. Hope this helps! :)

"Yes it did and I think that Dean did to some porting work when he pulled it apart for a freshen up"

Dean is the guy from mikeanics.

There's defo a lift from 3k, it's tame below that. The timing was out when V had it. It's getting fuel pump and Bosch dizzy on it and see how it goes then. Was his G reg a 1.4? What can is in it

aye he was told it would be alot better with red dizzy mate! aye his G reg is a 1400 revs well off the clock so tht must be what 7k or more?? hes unsure of cam as hes never looked! pulls the doors af the j reg tbh

I think this red one would beat my red top, on the back roads lol. Handles superb. Should rev like **** with the dizzy sorted :)

Need to get it up against the wee sport, that's a machine

it was quick like but the g reg is very quick ! its no that far off the sport ither tbh altho the sports held back by the limiter lol hahah

Was a nova from good old cheadle mazz! Built by a bloke by the name of Geoff, owns and runs a garage in town. :)

The cam has STD II 304 stamped onto it? Was thinking STD is standard but not really standard if the 304 is degress is it?

Anyone know what the STD II 304 is

Did he have a silk violet mk2 Astra on 5 stud's? I think I've bought some XE shafts off him before..

aha, aha! Thought it was the same bloke, here's his old for sale thread which might help you a little

I remember seeing it advertised and thinking how clean it was..

Mazz, legend! The rocker cover is different and the cam box has a different fuel pump...maybe a different cam box which had a different cam. Cause the one in it isn't a Kent.

The silk violet mk2 let/gte belonged to his business partner chris iirc. I saw the nova when Geoff had it, was very clean indeed!
