Im looking at buying a cheap motor with a 1.3 carb engine in needs a carb and inlet and few other things so im going to make up a inlet and run it on bike carbs but is there anything I need to know about these engines like typical faults, tunning capabilities ?? Obviously I will be doing a cambelt and water pump etc to be on safe side

all the 8v ohc engines are good, they can take a good thrashing.
the inlet ports on the 1.3 head are the 'cathederal' shape if your wanting to knock up a manifold.
if your running it standard before the change, sometimes the default 2e carb will block up with crap and cause running issues. its a good idea to blast out all the passageways with carb cleaner.
tunings as deep as your wallet I guess. you can get more bang for buck with bigger CC engine
