That would be me :) Just checking for clearance issues before final welding to the frame... that will be at a later date though

Moved.

Can imagine how well these engines go in a car the size/weight of a mini!

I'd have to put the B16 Honda engine in

The round nose mini doesn't have enough space really, you'd need a clubman.

Seen this conversion on a mini before, as ad says it works spot on.

Nice engine, bad place to fit it though lol each to our own but I dislike minis (old and new) as much as edd hates everything lol

Do the baby 16v engines not fit? I would love a Minivan

That would be quite amusing seeing you fit in a mini lol

Can't be much worse than getting in a Nova lol as long as the seats are mounted low theres plenty of room

How much hassle is involved in mounting the engine, sorting the linkage and fitting shafts etc?

Yeah they've done 20xe's in mini's for years, that would be nuts though!

My old old nova with the E16SE was nippy enough, would be wicked to have one in a mini!

I have a mate over here has a 1275gt with a 16 8v in it. Goes real well. His engine came from an astra and had a 3:9 final drive, i gave him a 3:74 which helped with the high engine revs due to the 12 inch wheels. Good luck with the build.

The only main issue was building the frame from scratch, took alot of head scratching and dimensions, the other thing was the engine mounts and gearlinkage as it all had to be fabricated.
Got the engine running today all plumbed in temp will host a video soon.
Just awaiting the fiberglassfront end been made and can measure up the radiator and fit a reverse alternator which should be fun

Allspeed conversion kit? or self build?
good work either way

All custom andy, we've made it so the full subframe + engine can be removed by 4 bolts for easy access

Agreed, my mk3 Astra was quick with a C16se in it (far from slow at least!).. in a Mini I bet it's a bit of a rocket :)
