I was driving with 2 other passengers. We all got out and walked away.

I was the best off with just 2 cuts on my face and a sore ankle.

The other two have stable fractures.

I dont want any comments about my Driving or speed or anything like that. I have been in hospital for days and thought of nothing else but "I Wish". So dont bother.

I just want to show what can happen and to think about your driving. You might not be as lucky!

Lost it going round an 'S' bend. I was going to taqke the racing line so to speak but didn't cos there was a car in the outside lane. I jerked back into my lane mid corner and lost it. Went through/over a wall allong a ditch and into a tree.

We are very lucky i know!

this is where it happened. You can see the skid marks leaving the road. This is after i had lost it sideways and managed to get it alsomst straight.

That is after the first apex of the 'S'. It is a Big bend as you can see its not a very tight 'S' bend and was on a Dual carridge way.

fair play to get out with sweet FA injuries.

but that seems to be a rule. if the car is fooked beond all belife people tend to walk away (the impact has been absorbed) but cars that stay relatively intact injure people (hasnt absorbed the shock).

looks like its been picked up and dropped by the claw a few times.

a couple of my m8s were involved in a bad smash in a gti 16v like that 1 in a similar sort of situation. the car was a complete write off, completely bent but they walked away from it without a scratch. must be something about them golfs

The lad who is in the back is still in Hospital. He broke his leg and his hip. He went into the back of the passenger seat and the lass in the front has fractured her back but is ok. she is out of hospital with just a collar.

I have just tacken my stitches out myself cos the nurse (my MUM!!) was p*ssing about with the stitch puller thing! I just got the sissors out and a pair of tweesers! LOL

I had 10 stitches in my nose and eyebrow/head. Two different cuts. My neck, back and shoulders are sore but I did hit the tree head on at my side of the car so I am lucky that i am only sore!!

I think the buckets Did help some. And you can see from the pics that the car absorbed the impact as the back of the car has crumpled up and twisted.

Thanks for not hammering me for my driving. I am glad we are all alive cos if anyone had got seriously hurt I would have been gutted (even more so than what i am now!) I head has had a bit of a battering but i think everything is going to be Ok.

i hope you've learnt a valuable lesson.

how bad would you have felt if your two passengers had died because you wanted to take the racing line.

Nova-Boy

Exactly! I was only upset about the passengers and my Mum. I knew I was ok.

I am just making a point so that other people can learn from my mistake and not their own in the future.

Glad you are ok mate - as has already been said (by almost everyone) you are lucky to get out with only a battered ego.

Do me a favour - email me the pics - and any others yuo have to me@wisew.com

and that goes for anyone else who has any pics etc or stories about accidents n stuff - i am starting a little "project" to show the downside to driving around faster than is really safe.

Ready for when 3fast 3furious generates the next batch of new members who think street racing is fantastic when they have only been driving a few weeks.

Very Very lucky Mate!!

It's only a shame that it takes something like this to make people realise how easy it is to get seriously hurt or killed.

My self and friends of mine have all had big ones in the past, some of us were lucky some of us were not!!

My advice is take it off road Guy's and girls, go and join your local motor club and get involved in sprint's, autotests, rally's etc. It is not as expensive as You think it might be.
