Yea that would be too small I dare say even the gsi one will be depending on horsepower figures. Tx autosports do a decent alloy radiator for not much.
A valeo gsi one is more than up to the job, me and a few others have found its luck if the draw when it comes to getting a good one of tx
I have a full length gte/gsi one for sale, pm if interested.

Tx have been getting alot of bad press about the alloy rads, I have one but tbh it's a bit rough looking.
I wish I had went for an oem one instead.

Running a standard SRi one on my XE. I *think* they are the same as GSi ones?

Valeo GSI one in mine
That one will be fine on a xe. But as you have it out it's better to use the bigger rad. But on a let you want the bigger the better as the ic will block some flow. The bigger one will be fitted to anything 1.3 up. Derv rads are different.
It's only the 1lt that had the rad on stilts, so yours had been changed at some point.

How about a diesel rad? Their huge and are full length, this may cause a problem with boost pipes tho.
Pipe are in the wrong place^
I used a 1200 rad on my 2.0 8v with no problems and I used that daily, just make sure the fan cuts in when its hot.
