apparently the early ones were non immobilised.

tbh i might just go scrappy tomorrow and rip the hole lot out of a corsa

surely there is a reasonably easy way of removing the immobiliser...

i'll have to look into it for my x16xe/xel that's going to be stuck in my nova.

as far as i have found on immobilisers fitted to various vehicles over the years, you normally bridge a pair of wires & remove the immobiliser. but i've never removed an OE one, so i will investigate & report via the club chat section.

Cheers dude, i know that nige on mig can do saab ones but he and a few other ecu gurus on there said that the factory immob built in cant be removed from the vauxhall ones

maybe you can't remove it, but as it is looking for a magnetic signal to trigger the induction loop, i'm guessing it can be beaten, or fiddled by something fairly easy.

unfortunately, a hammer can't fix everything.

Years ago you could get blank ecus, iirc the early delco X16xe ecus were the non coded ones.

for the life of me I could not get my x16xe to start with the chip and transponder so I was talking to a menaice and he told me of a company in Ballymena in northern Ireland. I email them told the problem said it sounded like the ecu was locked. posted them the ecu and he removed/bypased the immobliser for me
