struggling to get the bulb to flash,

i have the brown/yellow wire earthed.
the brown/blue wire to a bulb and then the other side of the bulb earthed but nothing comes out when ign is on

do you have to hold down the brake or something?

something is wrong. the EML should always come on and stay on, or come on and go off after a few seconds.

check that lamp you are using, it looks suspiciously like a halogen lamp. there is no way the ECU will have enough current to drive it if it is. you need a lamp with a small wattage like one out the dash.

im not sure if its wired right. where does the purple and blue go? i would have expected to see the lamp in series with a pin on the ECU at least.

purple and blue go to earth, i will try a smaller dash bulb

so where do the brn/yw and brn/be go? wouldnt they be up to where the dash bulb would be? which i presume is open circuit?

brown yellow goes to earth on batt. brown blue goes to positive side of bulb then negative side of bulb to earth

so nothing actually makes the bulb flash? O_o

the bulb is a 5w side repeater one. it might be too big.

surely we are on the wrong side of the ECU here?

according to my haynes, the dash has the +ve feed to the light, and the br/bl wire then connects to the ecu.

so to emulate this, i'd say you need to put a +ve feed into the bulb & then the other side to the br/bl.

ye seems like we are on the dash side of the loom rather than the ECU side

in your first post curtoise I see you ecu plugs is different colour to the plugs on the loom it looks like you have a tigra ecu

has this combination of ECU and engine ever run on this car or is this the first time you have put it together?

The reason a x14xe ecu was made is for that engine, surely the fueling will be all wrong. You'll madebe doing more damage than good IMO.

Yeah I'm just gonna change all the management to standard. Fed up with this
