I've had the dash out of my nova now the clock and lighter ain't working I've checked the wiring and fuse and seems right the only thing iam left with is a red single wire which I don't know where it goes can any one help ??

there is a single red into the clock, its from fuse 16. this also powers the interior light & radio

but the lighter comes from fuse 18, and is black (+ve) & brown (earth) the whole dash is powered by this, so you'd notice if the fuse was dead.

Right on the red wire goes to the heater control I've found out .

just what model nova is it?? cos in my haynes red goes nowhere near the heater control

Nova Sr I've checked my Haynes too couldn't see anything about a red wire for the clock .

get re-reading.

current track 76 on 83 & 84 years
current track 260 for '85 & '86 years
current track 285 for '86 onwards is for item P3, which is the clock & it has 'RT 0.75' as the wire from the fuse. RT is the german code for red.. it is from the german word ROT.. ][click on linky (http://german.about.com/library/blcolors.htm) for translation chart] & 0.75 is the mm2 of the wire
