Hi Folks,

Going over the Flair with a thorough servicing this weekend but a bit stumped on the Timing Belt/Tensioner....

It's a 1.2 on Carbs (12NV engine code) and nothing showing a tensioner....am I right in thinking the water pump will put tension on the belt?

Many Thanks,

yes.
3x 4mm cap screws hold the water pump on a boss which rotates on an eccentric. You fit a water pump spanner to the pump and turn it to apply the correct tension then tighten the cap screws.

often its a pain as the o-ring dries and it doesnt want to turn. sometimes you have to pop the water pump off (with minor coolant loss) to get it to free off.
